Having worked as a Mortgage Broker for many years, I recently found my business off by almost 90%, in this new economy.  I wanted to augment by business base, by offering other financial products.   I recently opened as an independent Canyon Leasing Broker.  I wanted to let all of my readers know that this was an excellent decision on my part, as my leasing business is rapidly becoming my “core business”, as Mortgages fade into the past. Why?

Liquidity.  The major reason that most businesses fail is the lack of working capital, also referred to as Liquidity.  Maintaining a good supply of cash on hand prepares you for whatever the economy can through at you.  Without it, you are in serious trouble.  Businesses of all sizes are learning this now, and are hording cash.  But, they still have equipment needs, thus the need for a well trained Equipment Leasing Broker.

Through the Canyon program , I took my knowledge of financial products, and began offering leasing, which conserves capital to my business associates.  They could not believe how easy it was to get equipment under a lease and how well it maintained their cash reserves.  

Word has quickly spread, and as the old saying goes “Build it and they will come”.  I am doing more business today than ever before just off of referrals.  Let’s face it, the banks only want bailout money from the Feds, and sure are not interested in lending it out, either at a reasonable rate, or without significant down monies.  Since leasing provides the equipment with virtually zero down, my customers are getting the equipment they need while preserving the capital they have and continue to expand their operations.

I wish you all the best in this mess that we find ourselves in.  Remember, preserve what you have , but position yourself with the equipment you need to face the next expansion and take advantage of it when it arrives.
